Description
The forecast had called for clear skies so when we woke early in a nearby hotel our plan was to use the day to scout and explore. When our headlights hit the fog bank we immediately changed our mind and headed to this familiar view for a chance to see it in unfamiliar conditions. The fog and low clouds interacted with each other all morning but when it lifted to frame the butte I seized the moment and made this image. Although it early in the year, it was the best day of 2017.
