And the way it looks, it COULD be ice, too! I love ambiguity :)

Another outstanding image by you. Questions that come to mind are why are the salts so bluish and what strange phenomena causes the raised hexagonal shapes? L/F

Artist's Description

The Salt Flats is perhaps my favorite place to explore and photograph in Northern Utah. Explore what? isn't it just flat? The playa is in a constant state of change. With each change in the weather brings a different moisture content to the salt which creates incredible textures. Only a short walk is usually needed to completely change the landscape.

About Dustin LeFevre

Dustin LeFevre

As a Utah native, Dustin LeFevre spent his childhood exploring and developing a deep appreciation for nature. He spends his free time exploring the beautiful and diverse landscapes of the West. Chasing sunsets and sunrises, he hopes to capture not just what is in front of his lens, but also the way it makes him feel. He hopes his images will help inspire the same appreciation of nature and desire to explore in others.
